Interfaces

Overview

Under Interfaces in the Master Data folder, you define configurations for importing and exporting data and assigning (mapping) the imported or exported source data. Here you can specify custom import routines or create what is referred to as a flexible interface. The following workspaces are available:

Configuration: In the Configuration workspace, you can choose interfaces to be used for a period-independent, automated export. This workspace is used only in exceptional cases. Interfaces are usually defined period dependently in the Structure workspace.

Structure: In the Structure workspace, you can define the format of import files.

Position Mapping: In the Position Mapping workspace, you can define how source items that you import from a source system are mapped to the target fields if you use an interface structure of type Import. Several multiple mapping files can be created for each interface and period here.

Import Mapping: In the Import Mapping workspace, you can define how source items that you import from a source system are mapped to the target fields when you use an interface structure of type Import (enhanced). A mapping file can be created for each interface and period.

Importing via Flexible Interfaces

The flexible interface enables import into the following workspaces:

  • IFRS
  • Local balance (HB/StB)
  • Questionnaire
  • Other
  • Pillar 2
  • Tax Form
  • Import Subgroup
  • Validation Subgroup
Supported Technologies

Besides file-based import and export, Income Taxes currently supports the following standard technologies:

  • Web Services
Web services are interfaces based on open standards for business-to-business communication between different systems. Web services can be used, for example, to retrieve and process data from Income Taxes in a consolidation system (e. g. via REST service).
  • SAP RFC
Remote Function Calls (RFCs) are a proprietary SAP protocol for data exchange with SAP systems. A corresponding function module on the SAP side is required to use RFCs. In this way, balance sheet and P&L data can be retrieved directly from SAP by Income Taxes and processed further, resulting in increased data security and reduced effort for Income Taxes users.
  • The import of the tax balance sheet can also be defined as an alternative to the LB/TB deviation. Since Income Taxes stores only the deviation, it must be calculated from the tax balance sheet value and the local balance value during the import process.
