Generating an XBRL Report Package

Overview

The iXBRL document, including all documents and folders prescribed by the regulatory authorities, can be generated in the XBRL document workspace.

In addition to the actual report, the XBRL Tagger creates Excel files that contain additional information on the document. Validations documented in an Excel file, for example, are performed during the generation process.

All results of the generation are displayed in the Result documents workspace and can be downloaded from there.

This article contains the following sections:

Creating an iXBRL Document

To create a valid iXBRL document with all tagged data:

  1. Go to the XBRL document workspace.
  2. Click Generate iXBRL report package in the Validate and Generate area.
    Generating an iXBRL report package
  3. The report is created together with four Excel files as a set of result documents.
  4. Switch to the Result documents workspace to download the report package or the created files.
Files in the Report Package

Even though the iXBRL file is an individual XHTML file, it is not enough to publish or submit only this file. A complete report package must be published instead.

The folder structure and the documents that must be published as an ESEF report package, with Company used as placeholder for the short name of the reporting unit, are described in the following table in the figure.

The complete ZIP file must be submitted to the responsible authority! All other generated files are intended only for internal purposes.

The other files of the report package are described in the following section.

Additional Files

In addition to the actual report, the following Excel files are created, which contain additional information on the created iXBRL report:

File

Description

Calculation report

The calculation report provides an overview of all calculations in the report and indicates whether they are valid or not. Invalid calculations may occur, for example, in the following cases:

  • In the event of rounding errors. In this case, the values must be adjusted in the document.
  • If the incorrect sign was used or configured. You can change the sign of a value in the XBRL document workspace in the properties of the assigned tag under Format | Sign Logic.

Mapping report

The mapping report contains a detailed overview of all tags or mappings and their properties that are applied to a document.

It may also contain all non-tagged cells with table mapping and their determined values.

Text block report

The text block report shows which text block tags exist in the report, their properties and, if necessary, which mandatory text block tags are still missing.

Validation report

The validation report contains, among other things, the following information:

  • Overview of all information on the report
  • Statistical information
  • Results of the validations performed
  • Any existing warnings
  • Overview of all tables that have been tagged
  • All linkbases created
