In xP&A, users can control user access and permissions at three levels:
- Organization-level permissions (i.e. user roles, teams)
- Model-level access
- Folder-level access
This article contains the following sections:
Organization-Level Permissions and User Roles
At the organization level, there are three user roles with different types of permissions:
- Administrators: Administrators can:
- Create, edit, and share models.
- Add and remove people to and from the organization
- Create teams, e.g. Finance Team or Marketing Team.
- Editors: Editors can:
- Create, edit, and share models
- Create proposals and accept proposals on the model
- Data collectors: Data collectors can propose edits to models with some other actions allowed. They can:
- Write comments
- Annotate charts
- Propose changes to variables and dimension items
- Propose to add, rename, delete or link dimension items
But they cannot: - Add, delete, or update visuals, variables, groups, and sections
- Add, delete, or update models, folders, or data sources
- Viewers:
- Can view dashboards shared with the organization but cannot access underlying models to make changes.
- Can create their own models, but cannot share models with the organization.
The user roles are assigned in the Administration section of the Lucanet CFO Solution Platform (see User Management).
Model-Level and Folder-Level Permissions
The permissions a user has for actions on a model depends on the level the model (or the folder the model is contained in) is shared with the user.
Sharing options for an entire model are:
- Full access
- Can edit
- Can create change proposals
- Can view
In addition, a model can be shared via public or private link or a only a limited view of the model can be shared.
For more information, see Sharing a Model and Using Views.
