Countries

Overview

For Pillar 2 calculations, every entry in the Countries workspace of the Master data functional area must include the following:

  • An ISO code that is used for the general jurisdictional blending of values
  • The currency exchange rates for the recalculation of local values to one single currency for the GloBE information return.

This article contains the following sections:

ISO Codes

For each jurisdiction, an ISO code must be maintained in the Countries workspace. This is necessary for the Pillar 2 calculations as the ISO codes form the basis for the country data collection (e.g. jurisdictional elections) and the blending of values. If no further information is given, the blending for the C1 – Safe Harbor Check, C3 – De Minimis Check, and C4 – Jurisdictional Blending is performed by aggregating all information with the same ISO codes. To create separate sub-groups within a jurisdiction, it is possible to introduce company-specific reporting dimensions.

For more information on how to add an ISO code, see Creating and Configuring an Element of Type 'Country'.

Currency Exchange Rates

Pillar 2 information includes company data from all over the world that is entered in a variety of local currencies. However, the calculations must be performed in one single currency. Therefore, you have to enter and regularly update the relevant currency exchange rates in the Countries workspace.

For more information on how to add currency exchange rates, see Importing Currency Exchange Rates.

Notes:

  • Foreign exchange rates cannot be set to 0.
  • Country names must be maintained in English.
  • Country names must be unique.
  • ISO codes must be maintained.
