Basic Configuration for Data Collection
Last updated on 2026-04-24
Overview
Before starting a data collection process, administrators must set up the foundational elements that define which data to collect, how to validate the data, and who will provide the data. This section covers the essential configuration steps.
Data Collection requires the following components to be configured:
- Form templates: Define the structure and layout of forms that reporting entities will complete. Form templates include sections and data entry elements.
- Validation rules: Define automated checks that verify data accuracy and completeness. Validation rules help ensure data quality before submission.
- Reporting entities: Import the reporting entities that will submit data through Data Collection.
- Reporting packages: Bundle form templates, validation rules, and reporting entity assignments into reporting packages that serve as the basis for data collection processes.
