Come and explore the exciting new features of our solution ESG Reporting! We update our CFO Solution Platform on a regular basis to offer you the latest features and improvements.

The versions of all solutions that you are currently using and those of the CFO Solution Platform are displayed when you select About Lucanet from the Help section in the CFO Solution Platform.

Apart from bug fixes and performance enhancements, the release contains the following new features:

This functionality can currently only be provided upon request. If you are interested in using this functionality, please contact esg@lucanet.com.

You can now use our AI-supported workflow to import GHG data saved in an MS Excel table. The imported GHG data is generated as footprint suggestions in the Emissions module by AI. After the import, you can review and either accept or reject the footprint suggestions.

For the review, you can access the following:

  • A summary of generated footprints, e.g. 13/15 footprints created
  • All AI-generated footprint suggestions in a table
  • Footprints that could not be created
  • The AI confidence score, including a tooltip that displays the four weighted factors used in the calculation: semantic match quality, region match, year match, and emission factor specificity.

You can then either accept or reject individual footprints or multiple footprints at once, or make adjustments before accepting the footprint suggestion, such as to the Scope and Category mappings, footprint name, location, sector and sub-sector, etc.

When editing a footprint, you can refer to the source Excel row number and sheet name. After having finished the edits, you can confirm the review to create your footprints, or save the review as a draft to continue later.

Good to know:

  • You can cancel an import, also while the Excel file is uploading or being processed.
  • The review is accessible to the ESG user who uploaded the file, and to ESG Data Collectors with access to the ESG report and reporting entity.
  • Imported footprints display source details (file name, sheet name, row number).
A dialog to review imported footprints is displayed.

ESG Administrators can now add company-specific, additional notes on questions in the Questionnaire Builder, both when configuring the Questionnaire and during data collection. Customized additional guidance is displayed for ESG Data Collectors as well as Reviewers alongside the standard guidelines, and a visual indicator distinguishes company-specific notes from standard guidelines.

Additional guidance is preserved when an ESG report is duplicated.

When an ESG Administrator adds or modifies additional guidance after a reporting entity has already submitted their ESG report, or the ESG report has been approved, the ESG report reverts to the In Progress status.

For more information, see Using the Questionnaire Builder.

Previously, when reopening an ESG report after it had been approved to enable one reporting entity to change and re-submit their report data, all other reporting entities also had to submit their report data. As of this release, ESG Administrators can reopen an ESG report for specific reporting entities. The option is available in the Data Collection page and restores edit access for the assigned data collector(s).

For more information, see Reopening an ESG Report.

Apart from bug fixes and performance enhancements, the release contains the following new features:

It is now possible to export EU Taxonomy reports. ESG Administrators can export EU Taxonomy reports as Excel files directly from the desired report page in the Reports and Activities workspace. The export functionality generates an Excel file containing four worksheets:

  • The Summary worksheet displays aggregated proportions of Turnover, CapEx, and OpEx for taxonomy-eligible and taxonomy-aligned economic activities with breakdown by environmental objectives:
    • Climate change mitigation
    • Climate change adaptation
    • Water
    • Circular Economy
    • Pollution
    • Biodiversity
  • The Turnover, CapEx, and OpEx worksheets display detailed activity breakdowns with calculations for each individual economic activity.

The exported file follows the EU Taxonomy reporting template structure, includes the reporting period and currency from master data, and consolidates activities with the same EU Taxonomy code into single rows. When the export is complete, the file is automatically downloaded in your browser.

The 'Reports and Activities' workspace is displayed. The option to export EU Taxonomy data is highlighted in red.

When creating a new ESG report in the master data configuration, you can now choose the ESRS 2.0 reporting standard as a third option alongside ESRS and VSME. ESRS 2.0 is based on the draft published by the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG). As the final version is not yet released, you can use this reporting requirement for now to test and prepare for these requirements, if needed.

ESRS 2.0 provides the same questionnaire structure as the standard ESRS hierarchy: General Disclosures, Environmental, Social, and Governance. However, compared to ESRS, the ESRS 2.0 structure is shorter and less complex.

The process of data collection, aggregation, and reporting is the same as for ESRS, except for the fact that it is not possible to map the Double Materiality Assessment results.

The master data page of an ESG report is displayed. The option to select a report guideline is highlighted in red.

For more information, see Creating an ESG Report.

The following translations have been added for the VSME report guideline: Spanish, Polish, and Dutch. Additionally, the ESRS report guideline is now available in Italian.

The text fields for collecting data for the ESG report questionnaire or the EU Taxonomy report now support 1,000 characters instead of 500 characters, i.e., you can now enter explanatory text containing up to 1,000 characters for your collected data.

Apart from bug fixes and performance enhancements, the release contains the following new features:

Lucanet ESG Reporting now offers improved duplication capabilities for ESG reports. When duplicating an ESG report, the user assignments to the roles reviewers and editors as well as the answers saved in the original questionnaire and the emissions module are automatically copied to the duplicated report.

This enhancement significantly reduces manual setup time and ensures consistency across multiple reporting periods or organizational units. This enables you to replicate complex reporting structures with all associated permissions and assessments in a single operation, streamlining the preparation process for recurring ESG reports.

For more information, see Working with Duplicated ESG Reports.

Lucanet ESG Reporting now includes a Mark as Complete feature that gives you greater control over the status of completion for each question of the ESRS or VSME Questionnaire. You can explicitly mark questions as complete when answers are ready for review, making answers either read-only to prevent accidental changes, or making the answers available to a reviewer, if one is assigned.

In case you are consulting aggregated responses during data collection, status indicators indicate the completion status of each question across all reporting entities: green when all reporting entities have marked a question as complete, and yellow when completion is pending. You can deactivate the Mark as Complete checkbox at any time to make edits when needed, ensuring clear tracking of question status throughout the data collection and review process.
