You can use the Data collection area in Lucanet Lease Accounting to manually collect or import data on each of your lease relationships. These data include the names of the individual lessors, the lease contracts themselves and contract components. You can also reverse contract components whose numbers have already been added to the database.

The data are entered separately for each reporting entity, and used later when accounting the lease relationships. The Data collection area in Lease Accounting contains the following workspaces:

  • Create and Configure Lessors: A lessor is the party that owns the underlying asset and transfers it to another party, the lessee, for a contractually agreed lease term. Lessors are the contracting parties that provide the basis for lease contracts in Lease Accounting.
  • Create and Configure Contracts: A lease contract is a formal agreement between the lessor and the lessee that transfers the right to control the use of an identified asset for a defined period of time in exchange for compensation.
  • Create and Configure Contract Components: Contract components are individual elements of a lease contract. Each component enables the precise recording and management of different lease terms, conditions and properties of individual underlying assets within the same lease contract.
  • Import Data Automatically: Automatic data imports allow you to import contracts, lessors and contract components automatically.
  • View Import History: In the Import history workspace, you can access information on all your previous imports at any time and across all reporting entities.
  • Reverse Components: Reversing components resets them to their original state, i.e. how they were before the components’ calculated values were first entered in the database.
  • Change the Lessee of Contract Components: With a change of lessee, you transfer an active, calculated contract component from one lessee to another lessee as of a transfer date. You can undo a change of lessee.

Lucanet Lease Accounting can only be used for accounting of regular lease relationships in accordance with IFRS 16.3-4. Short-term and low-value leases are not included in the calculation.

As such, we recommend only using this software to record lease relationships that are categorized as regular per IFRS 16.3-4.
