Reversing components resets them to their original state, i.e. how they were before the components’ calculated values were first entered in the database.

Reversing a component has the following consequences:

All changes made between when the component was

created

and when

the calculated values were saved in the database for the first time

will

remain in place

All calculated saved

values

will be

archived

All recorded component events (e.g. modifications or revaluations) will be

deleted

All

postings

that have been generated but not yet exported will be

deleted

A corresponding contra entry with the opposite plus/minus sign will be created for each exported posting. The posting date for this

reversal posting

is the date specified below.

Once the reversal is complete, the component is free to be edited as normal again.

To reverse a component:

Select one of the following options:

If you want to reverse all reversible components in the selected reporting entity at once, activate the

Reverse all components

option. With the option activated, the

Contract

and

Contract component

drop-down lists are disabled — skip the next two steps and continue with

Perform complete reversal

If you want to reverse individual components, select the

contract

to which the component is assigned and the

contract component

you want to reverse from the respective drop-down lists.

Choose the periods the reversal is to be performed for. Do one of the following:

If you want to reverse all periods, activate the option

Perform complete reversal

and select the

reversal posting date

If you want to reverse only from a specific period onwards, leave the option

Perform complete reversal

deactivated and select the starting month from the

Reverse periods starting from

drop-down list, then select the

reversal posting date

Click Perform reversal. A confirmation dialog is displayed as follows, for example:

Click OK to confirm component reversal.

If you activated the

Reverse all components

option in the first step, Lease Accounting displays an outcome summary after processing with the total number of processed components and how many succeeded or failed. If any components fail, the summary lists the reason so you can take corrective action.

Once the reversal is complete, the component is free to be edited as normal again.

Reversals cannot be undone.

If you switch to another workspace during configuration, any unsaved changes made to your configuration will be lost.
