Choosing a view in the tree view of a ledger or schedule displays the associated dimension bar. The configuration of the view defines which dimensions can be configured in the dimension bar.

In Lucanet Consolidation & Financial Planning you can create and configure your own views with any desired columns. In addition to the default view for displaying time series, organization elements and adjustment levels, any desired multi-column comparative views can also be displayed for all evaluations.

For columns in views, there are five different column types that can be assigned to a column (see Column Types and Configuring Columns). The following figure shows a view with four columns. The first two columns are value columns. The third column is a column of type Absolute difference, the fourth column is of type Difference %.

To create a new view in Consolidation & Financial Planning, proceed as follows:

Click in the dimension bar in the Reporting and analyzing workspace the View drop-down list and click Configure views.

In the tree view, right-click the Public or Private folder and choose New | View from the context menu. The Create View dialog is displayed as follows:

Enter a name and click Save.

The view is created and appears in the tree view.

To configure a view in Consolidation & Financial Planning, navigate to the newly created view in the tree view and click Edit in the detail view:

Change the Name of the view, if required.

Activate Hide fixed or unused dimensions, if desired, to hide the drop-down lists for dimensions that are fixed to a single element or not used in the dimension bar.

Click Add column to add a column to the view (see Additional Options).

Configure the column by defining the column type (see Column Types) and its options (see Configuring Columns).

If necessary, add more columns and configure them the same way.

For each column, choose the desired column type from the column types drop-down list (see Additional Options for adding a column). The following column types are available:

Column type	Description
Value	Is used to display a value from the data model in a column.
Absolute difference	Is used to display the difference between the values of two columns in a single column in the tree view.
Difference in %	Is used to display the relative difference between the values of two columns in a single column in the tree view.
Value in %	Is used to display the value of a column as a percentage of a reference column in a single column in the tree view.
Exchange rate	Is used to display the exchange rate between the display currencies of two columns in a single column in the tree view.

The column types Absolute difference and Difference in % are only available for selection if there are at least two columns.

Click the plus icon next to a column to expand its configuration details. The configuration options for a column differ depending on which column type is selected (see Column Types):

The following options are available for the column type 'Value':

Dimension	Reference
Time	Dimension bar row to which the period window should belong. If necessary, enter a time offset in Time offset (in months) — with a time offset of twelve months, for example, you can configure the display of values from the previous year. Reset the time offset with the input 0. Activate Fixed period to use a fixed period instead of a dimension bar row.
Adjustment level	Dimension bar row to which the adjustment level should belong, or a fixed adjustment level
Data level	Dimension bar row to which the data level should belong, or a fixed data level
Organization element	Dimension bar row to which the organization element should belong, or a fixed organization element
Transaction currency	Dimension bar row to which the transaction currency should belong, or a fixed transaction currency
Display currency	Dimension bar row to which the display currency should belong, or a fixed display currency
Partner	Dimension bar row to which the partner should belong, or a fixed partner
Year-to-date	Displays year-to-date values in the column

The following options are available for the column type 'Absolute difference':

Comparison value	Column that contains the comparison value
Reference value	Column whose value is to be subtracted from the value of the Comparison value column

The following options are available for the column type 'Difference in %':

Comparison value	Column that contains the comparison value
Reference value	Column whose value is to be subtracted from the value of the Comparison value column
Formatting	Defines whether the percentage value is to be displayed Without decimal places, with One decimal place, or with Two decimal places.

The following options are available for the column type 'Value in %':

Dimension	Reference
Reference value	Column whose value is used as the basis for the percentage display
Formatting	Defines whether the percentage value is to be displayed Without decimal places or with Two decimal places.

The column shows the read-only formula Display currency (quote) / display currency (base), followed by the following options:

Display currency (quote)	Column whose display currency is used as the quote currency in the exchange rate
Display currency (base)	Column whose display currency is used as the base currency in the exchange rate

The following additional options are available for columns when configuring a view:

Option	Description
Change order	Changes the order of the columns. Only available if the view contains at least two columns.
Eye icon	Hides or shows the column
Three-dot menu	Opens a menu with Duplicate and Delete. Delete is only available if the view contains more than one column.
Plus/minus icon	Expands (+) or collapses (−) the column's configuration details

Click Save to apply your changes, or Cancel to discard them.

Views for configuring the dimension bar in account hierarchies can be defined in both Lucanet.Financial Client and Lucanet Consolidation & Financial Planning. The views defined in Lucanet.Financial Client can be activated for use in Lucanet Consolidation & Financial Planning.
