# All Steps at a Glance – xP&A

## Overview

In this chapter, you will find the individual steps required to create and use models for the planning and analysis of your data using **Lucanet xP&A**. The step descriptions also contain links to more detailed descriptions.

On the start page, [create](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xp-a---extended-planning-and-analysis/creating-model.md) a new model and choose between **Basic New Model** (starting from scratch) or a **template**.

In the **Data** workspace, manage the [data sources](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xp-a---extended-planning-and-analysis/integrating-data.md). You can either select an **existing data source** or connect to a **new data source**. Afterwards, you can configure [dimensions](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xp-a---extended-planning-and-analysis/modeling-your-data/using-dimensions.md), if necessary.

Define [variables](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xp-a---extended-planning-and-analysis/modeling-your-data/create-edit-variables.md), the key building blocks of your model.

Create new variables in your **model**, then enter **values** manually, **connect data sources**, or use **formulas**.

Structure your analysis and create calculations.

- **Add sections** to [organize](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xp-a---extended-planning-and-analysis/working-with-models/organizing-models.md) your model.
- **Add [formulas](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xp-a---extended-planning-and-analysis/modeling-your-data/create-andedit-formulas.md) and reference inputs** to build all the variables you wish in your model.

**Visualize** your results using [charts and tables](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xp-a---extended-planning-and-analysis/viewing-and-visualizing-data/using-tables-charts.md).

On the **Dashboard** tab, you can add charts or tables.

Collaborate with your team by [sharing your model](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xp-a---extended-planning-and-analysis/working-with-models/sharing-a-model-folder/sharing-model.md) or dashboard.

By clicking **Share**, you can give access to colleagues and configure [views](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xp-a---extended-planning-and-analysis/viewing-and-visualizing-data/using-views.md) to control which parts of the model are shared.
