# Displaying and Editing the Status of Tags

## Overview

The **status** of tagged elements can be defined to obtain a better overview of the tagging process.

## Available Statuses

The following statuses are available for tagged cells and text blocks:

| Color | Status |
|---------|---------|
| | **Tag in progress**: The tagging has not yet been completed. The properties of the tag may have to be re-edited, or a reviewer has reset the status because the tag is not correct or has not been configured correctly. |
| | **Tag must be checked**: The tag must be checked. Areas, for example, that are tagged in the **Lucanet Disclosure Management** are displayed in yellow. |
| | **Tag completed**: The tag has been checked and accepted. |

## Changing the Status of an Individual Tag

You can change the status of a tag at any time. Proceed as follows:

{% stepper %}
{% stepper-step %}
Right-click a tagged element and choose **Change status | Status** from the context menu.

{% stepper-step %}
Choose the desired status.

**Note**: You can change the status of a tag also under **Properties** (see [Displaying and Editing Properties of Tags](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xbrl-tagger/xbrl-document/edit-tag-properties.md)).

## Status Presettings

You can define the following presettings for the status of tags in the [Settings](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xbrl-tagger/basic-configuration-xbrltagger/configure-xbrltagger.md) workspace:

- Which status is to be initially assigned to **newly created tags**.
- Which status is to be assigned to **extension tags**.
- Which status is to be assigned to tags **automatically added** to the document. Tags are automatically added, for example, if a Word document contains what are referred to as **content controls**, which may have been added to the Word document in the [Disclosure Management](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/disclosure-management.md).
