# All Steps at a Glance – XBRL Tagger

## Overview

In this chapter, you can find the individual steps required to tag a document with the **Lucanet XBRL Tagger.**

The presented sequence of steps is our recommendation for a procedure that is as effective as possible. You do not have to follow the recommended sequence in detail. If necessary, individual steps can also be carried out at a different time. For greater clarity, we have focused on the main steps and have not described optional detailed steps.

{% process-steps %}
{% process-step title="Preparing a Word Document" %}
To tag a Word document correctly, certain prerequisites must be fulfilled.

Check your document for all items in the list at [Preparing a Word File](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xbrl-tagger/basic-configuration-xbrltagger/prepare-word-file.md).
{% /process-step %}
{% process-step title="Adding a Word Document" %}
Editing a document is always started by loading the document into the XBRL Tagger.

Add the document to the list of documents in the [document overview](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xbrl-tagger/dashboard-xbrltagger.md).
{% /process-step %}
{% process-step title="Opening a Word Document" %}
Open the desired document from the [document overview](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xbrl-tagger/dashboard-xbrltagger.md). The open document is displayed in the **XBRL document** workspace.
{% /process-step %}
{% process-step title="Configuring the Document Settings" %}
In the XBRL Tagger settings, various specifications can be made for the document currently open, for example for the taxonomy, tagging, and the result document.

Configure the default settings for the document in the [Settings](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xbrl-tagger/basic-configuration-xbrltagger/configure-xbrltagger.md) workspace.
{% /process-step %}
{% process-step title="Tagging the Document" %}
Documents are tagged in the **XBRL document** workspace.

Switch to the **XBRL document** workspace and [tag](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xbrl-tagger/xbrl-document/xbrl-tag-document.md) the document.
{% /process-step %}
{% process-step title="Generating an XBRL Report" %}
When creating the finished iXBRL document, a report package is generated that contains the result document and various reports.

[Create](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xbrl-tagger/generate-ixbrl.md) the report.
{% /process-step %}
{% process-step title="Checking the XBRL Document" %}
Before downloading the report package, you can subject the tagged document to a final check.

- Open the document to be checked from the [Result documents](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xbrl-tagger/ergebnisdokumente.md) workspace.
- The document is displayed in the [iXBRL-Viewer](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/xbrl-tagger/xbrl-viewer.md) workspace, where it can be checked.
