# Collecting Data

## Overview

You can use the **Data collection** area in Lucanet Lease Accounting to manually collect or import data on each of your lease relationships. These data include the names of the individual **lessors**, the **lease contracts themselves** and **contract components**. You can also **reverse** contract components whose numbers have already been added to the database.

The data are entered separately for each reporting entity, and used later when accounting the lease relationships. The **Data Collection** area contains the following workspaces:

Lucanet Lease Accounting can **only** be used for accounting of **regular lease relationships** in accordance with **[IFRS 16.3-4](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/glossary.md#ifrs-16)**. **Short-term** and **low-value** leases are **not** included in the calculation.

As such, we recommend only using this software to record lease relationships that are categorized as **regular** per IFRS 16.3-4.
