# Configuration

## Overview

In the **Configuration** workspace, you can choose interfaces to be used for a period-independent, **automated export**.

You specify whether and at what event an automated export is to be created in the **[Structure](https://support.lucanet.com/en/documentation/income-taxes/income-taxes/master-data-income-taxes/interfaces/interfaces-structures.md)** workspace under **[Precondition for export](https://support.lucanet.com/en/documentation/income-taxes/income-taxes/master-data-income-taxes/interfaces/interfaces-structures.md#trigger)** .

> **Warning:** - An automated export is available only for interfaces with the **Export** direction and the **Custom Report** interface type.
> - The **Configuration** workspace is required only for this use case. In all other cases, interfaces are defined on a period-dependent basis in the **[Structure](https://support.lucanet.com/en/documentation/income-taxes/income-taxes/master-data-income-taxes/interfaces/interfaces-structures.md)** workspace.

## Choosing an Interface for Automated Export

The **Configuration** workspace is displayed, for example, as follows:

To configure an interface for automated export, specify the following:

| Option | Description |
|---------|---------|
| **Period** | Tax return period for which the automated export is to be created |
| **Export-Templates** | This entry is not required and can be left empty. |
| **Export Interfaces** | Selection of the export interface to be used for the automated export of a report.  Only interfaces with the **Export** direction and of type **Custom Export** are available for selection, for which [preconditions for export](https://support.lucanet.com/en/documentation/income-taxes/income-taxes/master-data-income-taxes/interfaces/interfaces-structures.md#trigger) have been defined in the **Structure** workspace. |

> **Warning:** All other fields in the **Configuration** workspace are not relevant and do not need to be configured.
