In the Transmission folder of the Country-by-Country-Reporting (CbCR) sub-module, you transmit the calculated CbC report for a snapshot to the relevant authorities. The folder contains a single workspace, Home, where you start a transmission and track the status of every transmission for the selected period.

A transmission always builds on a calculated snapshot that you create under Calculation | Home. Depending on the reporting regime and jurisdiction, CbCR either transmits the report automatically through an interface or prepares a file that you download and submit manually.

The Transmission folder can be found at Country-by-Country-Reporting | Transmission. It contains one workspace, Home, which is displayed as follows, for example:

The 'Home' workspace of the 'Transmission' folder is displayed.

To start a transmission:

1

At the top of the workspace, click Start transmission. The CbCR Transmission dialog opens:

The 'CbCR Transmission' dialog is displayed.

2

Under Reporting regime, select Tax CbCR for the regular filing to the tax authorities, or Public CbCR for public reporting.

3

Under Jurisdiction, select the jurisdiction to transmit to. The available jurisdictions depend on the reporting regime: Tax CbCR offers the tax jurisdictions, and Public CbCR offers EU and Australia.

4

Under Snapshot, select the snapshot to transmit. The list shows the snapshots that match the selected regime and jurisdiction; a snapshot that you have already transmitted is marked with a check mark.

5

Under Report type, select New Filing for an initial transmission or Deletion to withdraw a previously transmitted report.

6

For a Tax CbCR transmission to Germany, select the Environment: PROD for the production environment or Test for the test environment. The Environment field appears only for this combination.

7

Click Start to send the report.

For Tax CbCR to Germany, CbCR transmits the report automatically through the DIP interface. For other jurisdictions — including Austria and Switzerland — CbCR adds the country-specific header and prepares the file for manual upload to the relevant authority portal. For Public CbCR, CbCR always prepares the file for manual submission.

The workspace lists every transmission for the selected period, grouped by jurisdiction. For each transmission, the table shows the following columns:

ColumnDescription
Filing typeShows whether the transmission is a New Filing or a Deletion
SnapshotThe name of the transmitted snapshot
Created atThe date and time the transmission was created
Updated atThe date and time the transmission was last updated
StatusThe current status of the transmission. For details, see Checking the Transmission Status.
TagsFurther details of the transmission, such as the currency, the reporting period end date, the receiving country, and the reporting entity

If no transmissions exist for the selected period yet, the workspace shows a note instead of the table.

In the Status column, click the status icons of a transmission to open its status dialog. The dialog is titled CbCR - jurisdiction (for example, CbCR - DE) and shows the complete transfer workflow for that transmission.

The 'CbCR - DE' transmission status dialog is displayed.

At the top, the dialog summarizes the transmission — including the Currency, End of Period, Filing type, Name of the MNE Group, Period, Receiving Country, and Snapshot — together with technical metadata such as the module, module version, period ID, reporting entity ID, and snapshot ID.

The number of stages depends on the reporting regime and jurisdiction, and is displayed as a progress bar at the top of the dialog:

  • Tax CbCR to Germany runs through five stages: Preparation, Review, Signature, Submission, and Confirmation.
  • Tax CbCR to other jurisdictions and Public CbCR run through four stages: Preparation, Review, Signature, and Completion.

The Submission and Confirmation stages are only available when the report is transmitted directly to the tax authority through an interface. For all other jurisdictions, the system prepares the file for manual upload after the Signature stage.

For the selected stage, the dialog lists each processing step with its timestamp and the responsible user (or automatic for system steps). A step can include:

  • Attachments — the files generated for the transfer, such as the prepared XML and the transfer-header-enriched XML, which you can download.
  • Validation results and Hints — any validation errors and warnings, each with the affected field identifier. You can Export these lists.
