# Ribbons for MS Office Native

## Overview

In the **MS Office Native** variant, you use the ribbons from Office for the Web together with the locally installed Office programs (MS Word and MS Excel). Disclosure Management runs directly as an add-in in the locally installed Word desktop application.

In this variant, the **[Word ribbon](#word-ribbon)** is split into two tabs:

- The [**DM-Content**](#dmcontent-tab) tab contains the content-related functions.
- The [**DM-Layout**](#dmlayout-tab) tab contains the layout functions.

The **[Excel ribbon](#excel-ribbon)** helps you program an MS Excel file for Disclosure Management.

## Word Ribbon

The Word ribbon is split into the two tabs **DM-Content** and **DM-Layout**. The **Server** and **Lucanet** areas are available on both tabs.

### General Functions

The **Server** and **Lucanet** areas are available on both tabs.

#### Server

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Einchecken | The current file is saved in the database. Comments can be stored during the check-in process and are displayed in the document's history. |
| Aktualisieren | Changes made are shown as a preview without having to check in the file. The file view is refreshed according to the current settings. |

#### Lucanet

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Hilfe | Opens the help for Disclosure Management. |

### 'DM-Content' Tab

#### Highlight

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Set | Highlights the selected type of element with color. The drop-down offers the available highlight types (see below). |
| Remove | Removes highlights that have been set. The drop-down offers the highlight types to be removed (see below). |

Use the **Set** drop-down to choose which elements are highlighted:

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Disclosure-Management-Tabellen | Highlights the tables managed by Disclosure Management. |
| Nicht-Disclosure-Management-Tabellen | Highlights the tables that are not managed by Disclosure Management. |
| Dokumentvariablen | Highlights the document variables contained in the document. |
| Text Values | Highlights the body text numbers in the document. |

Use the **Remove** drop-down to remove the respective highlights:

| Disclosure-Management-Tabellen | Removes the highlight of the tables managed by Disclosure Management. |
| Nicht-Disclosure-Management-Tabellen | Removes the highlight of the tables not managed by Disclosure Management. |
| Dokumentvariablen | Removes the highlight of the document variables. |
| Text Values | Removes the highlight of the body text numbers. |
| Koppelungshervorhebungen entfernen | Removes the highlights of the couplings. |
| Datenänderungshervorhebungen entfernen | Removes the highlights of data changes. |

| Tabelle/Diagramm einfügen | Opens a dialog where a table or chart can be selected from an Excel file to carry it over to the Word document. #### Text

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Style Guide | Opens the Style Guide pane, which displays the formats configured in the Style Guide Manager. |
| Special Characters | Opens a drop-down menu for inserting typographic special characters (see below). |
| Reset manual formatting | Resets manual formatting at the paragraph and character level so that the original styles are restored. |

Use the **Special Characters** drop-down to insert the following special characters:

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Em Dash | Inserts an em dash (—). |
| Non-Breaking Hyphen | Inserts a non-breaking hyphen that is not broken at the end of a line. |
| Soft Hyphen | Inserts a soft hyphen (an optional hyphenation point). |
| Non-Breaking Space | Inserts a non-breaking space that is not broken across lines. |
| Soft Line Break | Inserts a soft line break without starting a new paragraph. |

#### Hanging Indent

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| From Cursor Position | Creates a hanging indent from the current cursor position. |
| Reset | Resets the hanging indent. |
| Expand | Increases the hanging indent. |
| Reduce | Decreases the hanging indent. |

#### Page Break

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Page Break | Inserts a page break at the cursor position. |

#### Typografie

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Laufweite zurücksetzen | Resets the character spacing of the selected text to the default value. |
| Laufweite erweitern | Increases the character spacing of the selected text. |
| Laufweite verringern | Decreases the character spacing of the selected text. |
| Wortabstand erweitern | Increases the spacing between words in the selected text. |
| Wortabstand verringern | Decreases the spacing between words in the selected text. |

## Excel Ribbon

The Excel ribbon helps you program an MS Excel file for Disclosure Management. It provides the following functions:
