# Transferring User Roles to Another User with Lucanet Lume

## Overview

With Lucanet Lume, you can transfer a user's document- and chapter-level roles to another user directly via a chat command, instead of working through Role Management manually for every document and chapter.

Lucanet Lume reads all of the source user's document- and chapter-level roles and assigns them to the target user in addition to their existing roles. Existing role assignments of the target user are kept, and roles the target user already has are skipped. No roles are removed.

[Global roles](https://support.lucanet.com/en/documentation/disclosure-management/basic-configuration-disclmgmt/role-mgmt-disclmgmt/assign-global-roles-disclmgmt.md) are not part of this transfer; existing global roles of both users remain unchanged. The source user's roles are not changed by the transfer.

## Prerequisites

- You need the **Global Administrator** role for Disclosure Management, at the **Professional** license level.
- The source and target users must be two different users who are activated for Disclosure Management in the User Management area of the Lucanet CFO Solution Platform.

## Instructions

To transfer the roles of one user to another user with Lucanet Lume:

{% stepper-step %}
Open Lucanet Lume and describe, in natural language, which user roles should be transferred, for example:

"Transfer the permissions of [name of the source user] to [name of the target user]."

Lucanet Lume resolves both users and shows a preview of the planned changes, split into two sections:

- Roles to be added to the target user
- Roles the target user already has, which remain unchanged

Each entry shows the role name, the scope (document or chapter), and the title of the affected document or chapter. Global roles of both users are listed in a separate, informational-only section and are excluded from the transfer. No permissions are changed yet.

After confirmation, Lucanet Lume applies the changes: the missing document- and chapter-level roles are added to the target user. Lucanet Lume then returns a summary of the roles added.

## Canceling the Transfer

If you cancel or close the conversation with Lucanet Lume before confirming, no permissions are changed and no audit log entry is created.
