# Assigning Global Roles for Disclosure Management

## Overview

Global roles can be used to assign solution-wide, cross-document permissions, e.g. administrator rights for documents, import functions, system settings, and role assignment within Disclosure Management.

## 'Global roles'workspace

The **Global roles** workspace is displayed as follows:

Before a user can be assigned a role in Disclosure Management, they need to be activated for Disclosure Management in the **User Management section of the Lucanet CFO Solution Platform**.

- If a user is assigned the role of **Administrator** for Disclosure Management in the User Management section of the Lucanet CFO Solution Platform, this user will automatically receive the **Global Administrator** role within the Disclosure Management solution, together with all the associated solution-wide, cross-document administrator rights. At least one user with the **Administrator** role for Disclosure Management must be created.
- If a user is assigned the role of **Editor** for Disclosure Management in the User Management section of the Lucanet CFO Solution Platform, this user will automatically be assigned the role of **Global Editor** within the Disclosure Management solution.
- If a user is assigned the role of **Reviewer** for Disclosure Management in the User Management section of the Lucanet CFO Solution Platform, this user will automatically be assigned the role of **Global Reviewer** within the Disclosure Management solution.
- If a user is assigned the role of **Reader** for Disclosure Management in the User Management section of the Lucanet CFO Solution Platform, this user will automatically be assigned the role of **Global Reader** within the Disclosure Management solution.
- If a user is assigned the role of **No specific role** for Disclosure Management in the User Management section of the Lucanet CFO Solution Platform, this user will not receive any kind of special role at first within the Disclosure Management solution. Different permissions can only be assigned to a user if they are first assigned a user role by a **Global Administrator**.

## Permissions for Global Roles

The permissions that can be assigned with a global role are listed on the right-hand column in the **_Role_ Permissions** area.

The following permissions can be assigned with the available global roles:

### Global Administrator

- **ReadAllDocuments**: Read all documents
- **EditAllDocuments**: Edit all documents
- **DeleteAllDocuments**: Delete all documents
- **ReadRoles**: View roles
- **SettingsGlobal**: Edit global settings
- **AssignGlobalRoles**: Assign global roles
- **ImportAdministration**: Manage data imports
- **AssignDocumentRoles**: Assign document roles
- **ReadAllChapters**: Read all chapters

## Assigning Users a Global Role

To assign a global role to a user:

In the **Global roles** column, select the user role you want to assign to a new user.

In the **Assigned users** area, click **+**.

In the displayed dialog, select the user you want to assign to the role.

**Save** the settings.
