# Importing Data in Lucanet Data Collection

## Overview

Instead of entering data manually, you can import financial data directly from external sources into Lucanet Data Collection. Data Collection supports three import types, each suited to a different source system and workflow.

## Import Options in Data Collection

The following table describes the import types in Data Collection (DC) with their data source and who configures them:

| Import type | Data source | Who configures it |
|---------|---------|---------|
| [Excel](https://support.lucanet.com/en/documentation/data-collection/collecting-data-dc/importing-data/importing-data-excel.md) | .xlsx or .xls file uploaded directly | No admin setup required — collectors configure row and column mappings when importing |
| [Consolidation & Financial Planning (CFP)](https://support.lucanet.com/en/documentation/data-collection/collecting-data-dc/importing-data/importing-data-cfp.md) | CFP OLAP Server | DC administrators configure a Period Value Type per column in the form template; collectors execute the import with a single click |
| [Lucanet.Financial Warehouse](https://support.lucanet.com/en/documentation/data-collection/collecting-data-dc/importing-data/import-warehouse.md) | Lucanet.Financial Warehouse | DC administrators configure structural mapping in the form template; collectors complete element mapping and execute the import |
