# Organization Elements

## Overview

The structure of your enterprise is recreated in the **Organization elements** workspace. The **Organization elements** workspace is used for the creation, modification or deletion of references to objects that were previously created in the [Reporting entities](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/consolidation-financial-planning/platform-dimensions/reporting-entities.md) workspace or in the [Groups](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/consolidation-financial-planning/consolidation/consolidation-2/defining-group-structure.md) workspace. You can set up not only one but any number of structures, because there is no limit to the number of references that can be created to the objects from the [Reporting entities](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/consolidation-financial-planning/platform-dimensions/reporting-entities.md) and the [Groups](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/consolidation-financial-planning/platform-dimensions/reporting-entities.md) workspace, nor to the combinations that can be formed from them.

## Elements of the Workspace

The **Organization elements** workspace contains the following elements:

| Option | Description |
|---------|---------|
| Organization groups | Organization groups are used in structures to combine all of the structure elements of the entire structure or of substructures that belong together. For example, all of the structure units of a group can be combined in one organization group and all of the structure units from subgroups can be combined in separate organization groups (see [Creating and Configuring Organization Groups](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/consolidation-financial-planning/platform-dimensions/organization-elements/create-configure-org-groups.md)). |
| References | References are links to elements that were previously defined in the **Reporting entities** or the **Groups** workspace (see [Creating and Configuring References](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/consolidation-financial-planning/platform-dimensions/organization-elements/create-references.md)). |
| Total lines | Total lines are used for calculating totals or subtotals in structures (see [Creating and Configuring Total Lines](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/consolidation-financial-planning/platform-dimensions/organization-elements/create-configure-total-lines.md)). |
| Residual amounts | Residual amounts are created automatically in the **Organization elements** workspace when displaying a group by levels using nested consolidation areas. Residual amounts can correct possible multiple recordings of consolidation units. One residual amount is created per consolidation unit which was recorded several times, containing the reference to consolidation unit and the associated reference to consolidation unit - cancellation (see [Configuring Residual Amounts](https://support.lucanet.cloud/en/documentation/consolidation-financial-planning/platform-dimensions/organization-elements/configure-residual-value.md)). |
